Configuring a cPanel email IMAP account using your local email client

This article describes how to configure an IMAP account within your email client.

It will work with most popular mail clients - Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, as well as your iPhone or Android mail app.

When adding a new account, use the following settings.

Note your "hostname" will be either power.cloudshop.net.au (Australian servers), or us-power.cloudshop.net.au (USA servers). Please make the neccesary replacement when copying the following settings. 



Incoming Settings

  • Username: youremail@yourdomain.com
  • Password: your password
  • Server, or Hostname: hostname - see above. For example "power.cloudshop.net.au"
  • Port: 993
  • Security: SSL / TLS


Outgoing Settings

  • SMTP Server, or Hostname: hostname - see above. For example "power.cloudshop.net.au"
  • Port: 465
  • Security Type: SSL / TLS
  • Username: youremail@yourdomain.com
  • Authentication: your password
